Beommusa Lawyer Examination

Conducted once a year. Persons who passed the 1st examination shall be exempted from sitting the 1st examination in the next year.

Eligibility

A. A person without any disqualification reasons in each paragraph in Article 6 of beommusa lawyers Act

A person who corresponds to any of the paragraph in Article 6 of beommusa lawyers Act shall be disqualified as a beommusa lawyer.

  1. A person under adult guardianship or a person under limited guardianship
  2. A person who was declared bankrupt, but has not been reinstated
  3. A person in whose case five years have not passsed since the completion of, or exemption from, a sentence of imprisonment without labor, or greater punishment, as so declared by a court of law
  4. A person in whose case two years have not passed since the completion of suspension of imprisonment without labor, or greater punishment, as so declared by a court of law
  5. A person who is under the suspension of the completion of imprisonment without laber, or greater punishment, so as declared by a court of law
  6. A public official, in whose case five years have not passed since he/she was dismissed by disciplinary action, or in whose case three years have not passed since he/she was released from office
  7. A person in whose case five years have not passed since he/she was expelled under this Act.

B. No limits to academic backgrounds, experiences, and age.

A. 1st examination: Multiple choice written examination

3rd subject Civil Execution Act (70), Commercial Registration Act and Non-Contentious Case Procedure Act (30)
4th subject Registration of Real Estate Act (30), Deposit Act (30)

 

B. 2nd examination: Written essay examination

1st subject Civil Act
2nd subject Criminal Act (50), Criminal Procedure Act (50)
3rd subject Civil Procedure Act (70), Preparation of Documents Related to Civil Cases (30)
4th subject Registration of Real Estate Act (70), Preparation of Registration Application Documents (30)

※ Codes for judicial/level V examination furnished in examination site are rented to candidates

 

C. Passing Criteria

1st Examination: Full marks for each subject is 100. Candidates who passed the test is chosen from those who scored at least 40 marks in each subject, in the order of highest to lowest total marks, and in consideration of the examination results and number of candidates.

2nd Examination: Full marks for each subject is 100. Candidates who passed the test is chosen from those who scored at least 40 marks in each subject, in the order of highest to lowest total marks, within the quota.

Passing Marks for Candidate Subject to Exemption from Part of 2nd Examination in accordance with the provisions of Article 5-2(2) of the beommusa lawyers Act

(Passing marks and the average marks for each of above shall be computed up to 2 decimal places)
